Mary Price, MD

 

Mary Price, MD joins Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn in January 2015.

Dr. Price received her MD at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2006. She completed her post graduate Internal Medicine residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Strong Memorial Hospital in 2010. Dr. Price is certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association and The Medical Society of Cayuga County.

She has served as a Hospitalist at the Cortland regional Medical Center and most recently as a Hospitalist at Auburn Community Hospital, Auburn, NY.
 

Brian R. Bennett, MD

 

Brian R. Bennett, MD joined Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn in August 2007.

He graduated medical school at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He came to Auburn from the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC)/Strong Memorial Hospital where he completed his residency. He served as Chief Resident and resident preceptor in the Medicine Resident Urgent Care Clinic and was also on staff with the Hospitalist Unit.

Dr. Bennett is the recipient of the White Family Memorial Scholarship for Rural Medicine and the Milton S. Luria Award for exceptional clinical ability, enthusiasm and attitude. In addition to joining IMAA, he also serves as the Medical Director at Mercy Rehabilitation Center in Auburn. He is originally from Bath, N.Y.; he is married and has three children.

William J. Childres, MD

 

William J. Childres, MD joins Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn in September 2013.

Dr. Childres received his MD at SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2002 where he also served as Chief Resident and as a Practice of Medicine Instructor 2005 - 2006. He received the Harry A. Feldman Preventive Medicine Award in 2002 at SUNY Upstate Medical University in recognition of excellence and interest in preventive medicine. He also received the Resident Teacher Award and Outstanding Primary Care Clinic Resident award in recognition by students of the internal medicine clerkship and in recognition of excellent care provided at the primary care clinics, both through SUNY Upstate Medical University 2004 - 2005.

Dr. Childres is certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society for Hospital Medicine. He has served as a Hospitalist at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse and Auburn Community Hospital in Auburn, NY.

Jeffrey M. LeGrett, MD

 

Jeffrey Legrett, MD is a native of Auburn, NY and has been with Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn since 2000.

Dr. Legrett graduated medical school at the University Of Buffalo School Of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He returned to Auburn from Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y., where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine. He is the recipient of various awards including the Merck Index award for excellence in organic chemistry; the Bausch & Lomb Science award for excellence in science and the Coe Memorial and James Seymour awards for excellence. Board certified in Internal Medicine, he is also a certified Clinical Densitometrist and a member of the International Society of Clinical Densitometrists.

In addition to his work at Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn, Dr. Legrett also serves as Medical Director of the VA Clinic at Auburn Community Hospital. He is married and has a daughter.

C. Patrick Karpinski, FNP-C

 

C. Patrick Karpinski, FNP-C Joined Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn July 1, 2019

Patrick recently graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Upstate Medical University with his Master of Science and Family Nurse Practitioner degree. He is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He trained extensively under Dr. William J. Childres, M.D. at Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn during his clinical course work. He is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of NYS and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Patrick worked as a certified critical care registered nurse at Upstate Hospital prior to joining IMAA. He resides in Jordan-Elbridge with his wife and son.

 

Amelia Komanecky, FNP

 

Amelia began her career with a BA degree in Psychology and Biology from Russell Sage College. She earned her RN degree at St. Joseph's School of Nursing where she continued working 12 years in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Room.  She earned her Masters degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University and is a nationally board certified Nurse Practitioner. As an NP she worked 8 years at Auburn Community Hospital in the emergency department and as a hospitalist. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She joined Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn in January 2021.



Michelle Heater, DEXA Technician

 

Michelle Heater, RT(R)(M)(BD), CBDT Bone Densitometrist
 

Michelle Heater has been with Internal Medicine Associates of Auburn since 2000. She is a graduate of Northeastern University, Boston, MA since 1977. She is certified by both the International Society of Clinical Densitometry since 1998 and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists since 2001. She is also a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation and the INternational Society of Clinical Densitometry. Michelle is a faculty member of Herzing University. She lives in Baldwinsville, NY with her husband and has three grown daughters.
